My research interests focus on cultural differences in conceptions of self and social cognition with implications for health-related information processing, interpersonal relationships, and question comprehension and answering in survey contexts. Some of my current projects in collaboration with colleagues focus on (1) cultural conceptions of honour and roots of honour-related aggression, (2) ecocultural influences on cognitive and social psychological processes, (3) social, cultural, and religious correlates of attitudes toward interethnic and interfaith intimate relationships, and (4) the role of self-regulatory mechanisms in social cognition (e.g. processing of messages), social interaction (e.g., aggression), and well-being.
